Greetings to the Veteran’s Heart Ga. Community!
Welcome to all the new people who have joined forces with us as a result of the phenomenal story aired on WABE on Veterans Day. If missed the broadcast, you can hear it through this link.

The Gathering on October 12 was an opportunity to begin the practice of Just Listening to others on a very profound level. 27 of us learned the skills of Deep Listening and applied them to the expression of feelings after hearing a presentation of Larry Winter’s poem, I Killed For You.
This type of Speaking and Listening allows us to open to what is spoken and to stay with our own inner experience of what we hear. This is a key step towards building the bridge across the divide between civilians and our veterans as we learn to listen without turning away. We will be revisiting these skills in each of our gatherings.

The next Gathering is December 14 for Movie Matinee. This is the first of our monthly screenings of a movie related to our work, followed by group discussion.
Muse of Fire, the documentary created as a companion to the book, Operation Homecoming is our first presentation. The letters and writings of participants in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are compelling, and beautifully depicted in both the book and the movie. Click here for more details, and to view the movie trailer. Kari Apted, wife of our webmaster, Iraq Vet Donnie Apted, is featured in both the book and the movie.
PLEASE REGISTER IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND. WE WANT EVERYONE TO HAVE A SEAT! Just be sure to let us know by the 13th.
And let your friends and relations know of this event!
If you have suggestions for future movie presentations, please let us know.
