Veteran’s Heart Georgia would like to invite you to join us in helping to heal the wounds of war. You may participate on several levels.
We gather twice a month in comminity meetings: Movie Matinee on the 2nd Sunday, and Just Listening Circle on the 4th Sunday. The Movie Matinee is a screening of films related to some aspect of war and healing from the effects of war, followed by facilitated discussion. The Just Listening Circles provide a place for veterans, family and friends of veterans, and the community to share the stories of the experience of war. In both gatherings we learn and practice holding ourselves in mindful presence so that we can listen deeply to each person as they speak the truth of their lives. Please check the Calendar of Events on our home page for time and place each month.
We recommend that you read War and The Soul, by Edward Tick, which will familiarize you with the foundation of our work.
Veteran’s Heart Georgia is a project of International Humanities Center, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under the IRS Code. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law. Your generosity enables us to offer scholarships for Veterans and their families to attend intensive Healing Retreats, as well as supporting our other programs.
You may also join us directly on a practical level by participating on our Committees. We need your expertise passion, your committment and your passion to nurture and carry out our mission.
